PASTORAL CARE:

The ministries providing Pastoral Care are:

MINISTRY TO THE ELDERLY, SICK, AND HOMEBOUND

- EMHC to the Homebound - Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are specially trained to bring communion to those unable to attend Mass due to age or illness.
- Phone Ministers - call the home bound from the PCC as part of a phone reassurance program.
- Card Ministers - send the homebound birthday greetings, sympathy and special occasion cards.
- Dry Harbor Nursing Home - Ministers set up for, transport and assist residents on Wednesday for the recitation of the Rosary and on Saturday for Mass.
- Madison York Residence - Extraordinary Ministers conduct a Prayer Service at the residence each Thursday.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is an international Catholic organization of lay persons. It seeks, in a spirit of justice and charity and by person to person involvement of its members, to help those who are in need.
- Food Pantry - Ministers operate the Food Pantry Monday - Friday from 10AM -12PM. Non perishable foods brought to Church by parishioners the first Sunday of each month stock the panty.
- Holiday Outreach - Holiday Helpers assist Society Members with Adopt-a-Family and Thanksgiving dinner. They also help with the gift outreach to the elderly, sick and homebound at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.
- Student Service - Ministers accompany 7th and 8th grade students to Dry Harbor Nursing Home each week as part of a Friendly Visitor Program.
- Advocates to the Disabled - Ministers assist the staff in its responsibility toward persons with disabilities. Advocates are trained by the diocese.

MINISTRY OF CONSOLATION

This ministry includes lay ministers who reach out to families at times of loss.
- Wake Services - Teams of ministers visit the funeral home and celebrate the Vigil for the deceased.
- Bereavement Group - Ministers support parishioners recently experiencing the loss of a loved one. Groups meet the last Wednesday of each month at 1:30pm and 7:30pm in Father Feely Hall
- Card Ministry - Ministers send letters and cards of condolence, at the time of the death of a parishioner, 3 months later and on the anniversary of death. Families are invited to the All Souls Day Mass and reception

ELIZABETH MINISTRY

An outreach to women during the joys and sorrows of childbearing years, offering support and encouragement during pregnancy, new birth, miscarriage, infant loss, infertility and adoption.
- Visiting Ministers - Women offer companionship based on personal experience. Visits are made in person, by phone and by mail.
- Non-visiting Ministers - Women help “behind the scenes” organizing supplies, planning events and using their talents in many ways.
- Prayer Partners - offer spiritual support to the visiting ministers through prayer.
- Mothers Time - Time for Moms to gather together each Tuesday morning, while babysitters supervise their children; they share ideas and form friendships. Special events include holiday celebrations, Mother’s Day Brunch, Mom’s Night Out and an end of year BBQ.

OFFICE MINISTRY

Office Ministers volunteer a few hours of their time each week to assist at the Pastoral Care Office. Ministers answer the door and phones, do clerical work and assist with special projects.
