Liturgy Committee:
Men and women, 20 years of age and older, who have an interest in the planning and evaluation of our parish celebrations. Meeting take place once a month.
Lectors:
A lector is one who demonstrates an awareness that he/she is proclaiming Christ. The Way, the Truth, and the Life. The lector should be a “person of faith” who truly believes the scripture message that is proclaimed to the assembly.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion:
A mature Christian (18 years of age and over) who shares in the privilege of distributing the Sacred Body and Precious Blood on Sundays, weekdays and also to those who are homebound or residents of a nursing home.
Ushers / Ministers of Hospitality:
Men and women who greet people warmly as a representative of the parish staff. They also assist in: the seating of worshiping members, taking up the collection quickly and quietly, facilitating in the procession of communion, and distributing bulletins at the conclusion of our worship services.
Altar Servers:
Open to girls and boys from the fourth grade through high school. A brief training period takes place to familiarize the servers with the various prayer responses, liturgical vestments and vessels, as well as the various roles and actions associated with daily, weekend Masses and any other liturgical services scheduled throughout the year.
RA Adult Choir (English):
This group is open to any adult wishing to enhance the sung prayer at our English language liturgical services. This choir sings at the 11:00AM Sunday Eucharist from October to June. In addition, the choir sings many special events during the year including Thanksgiving, Lessons and Carols, Christmas, the Easter Triduum and Confirmation. Traditional choral music ranging in style from (Baroque (1700’s) to the present is the mainstay of this groups repertoire. The ability to read music is not essential for entrance into this group.
RA Adult Choir (Hispanic):
This group is open to any adult wishing to enhance the liturgical prayer at our Spanish Language Eucharist. This choir sings at the 12:30PM Sunday Eucharist from October to June. In addition, the choir sings at an occasional special event during the year as needed. The ability to read music is not essential for entrance into this group.
RA Children’s Choir (English):
This group is open to any school age (fourth to eighth grade) wishing to enhance the sung prayer at our 9:30AM Sunday English language Family Mass (monthly from October to June). In addition, it also provides music for other liturgical services (Lessons and Carols) throughout the year. Traditional and contemporary children’s music is the basis for this groups repertoire. As in all of our other groups, the ability to read music is not necessary for those wishing to join this group.
Altar Cleaning:
Men and women who meet weekly to engage in “general” cleaning within our church.
First Friday Prayer Apostolate:
Men and women who meet every First Friday of the month after the 9:00 AM Mass to pray for the sick, the hospitalized, and for the needs of our parishioners and our parish community as a whole. Petitions can be placed in the specially marked box found at the entrance of the church.
